I don’t know whether it is because I grew up in Princeton, which is a very preppy town, but I loooooove ribbon. Ribbons were a constant fashion accessory during my formative years – ribbons in my hair, ribbon belts, ribbon headbands, even ribbon purses.
Cut to today and~voila~I get to use ribbon all over the place!! For something so small, ribbon does a lot of heavy lifting. Ribbons come in a wide range of fabrics from satin to silk to chenille – from plaids to pleats to polka dots. Here is a peek into my ribbon closet. Enjoy!!
I also love buttons. Check out the button pack I picked when antiquing in New Hampshire.
Beaded and embroidered ribbon is perfect for trimming romantic bridal bouquets.
And of course you know I would have ribbon in my closet with a nautical theme. I just love this for tussy mussys and boutonnieres.
For all you dog lovers…how cute would these be for that floral dog collar you have been dreaming about.

Wow. I love these ribbons! Especially the floral one at the bottom of the 3rd photo. I could use a couple of yards of it.

Oooooh, we have just discovered your site and simply adore it. It is fabulous.
Your book is wonderful, and we know many brides for whom it was a godsend. And we have looked to it for inspiration as well as practical suggestions.
We stumbled here I believe because of the post topic being ribbon, to which we are addicted. There’s no helping us, no Twelve Step group, no counseling, nothing. Sigh. Oh well!
The Scotties and the nautical ribbon are favorites.
Thank you for such an enjoyable post!

I love ribbon as well and always find myself poring over the ribbon aisle at every store. Usually I don’t even have a need for it!!! I received your book as a gift about a year ago and fell in love with it! Almost every page has a little tab on it :)

Stumbled upon your site and immediately fell in love with the nautical/anchor ribbon you posted. I will be getting married next May 2010 and recently my father has passed away. He was a water man in every sense of the word and I thought this ribbon would be perfect to adorn my bouquet, in some sense he will then be able to walk me down the aisle. Was hoping you could reference a point of purchase of this ribbon?
Thanks
