There are so many components to a warm and successful wedding. One design cornerstone we try and illustrate for brides is to take functional basics such as the seating card table, the cocktail reception bar, a sweet station or “to go” sweet boxes-and turn them into “destinations” for guests. Another key component of a successful wedding is the flow of traffic. By creating points of interest through clever design and creativity, guests remain visually interested and entertained-not to mention you will get great photographs.
This is an adorable “to go” box with a custom tissue paper and label. The sweets are recipes from both the bride’s and the groom’s grandparents. The recipes were included on perforated recipe cards. Instead of just piling boxes on a table, we created a “destination” by renting an old wood and glass sweet case and stationed it towards the exit with waiters in long aprons and striped vests.
The design direction for this wedding was”farm”. Ironically both the bride and groom’s grandparents owned sweet shops. To create a destination and share this point of interest with guests, we found old black and white photographs of the bride on her grandad’s lap in his shop and the same for the groom. We chose old fashioned candies and sweets. We sourced white washed chicken coops in lieu of a table.
