Autumn Inspiration

November 18th, 2008 · 7 Comments

I have asked a member of my creative team, Mark Rose to blog and here is what he has to say. Enjoy his unique perspective………

MARK ROSE BLOGS.

Nature is my greatest source of inspiration and in particular autumn. Shades of orange, burnt yellow, rust, and brown mixed with warm metallic colors like gold, copper, and bronze provide a dramatic backdrop for any party during the fall. The first few images reveal how nature sets the stage…..

Paying attention to what grows together in nature develops the color palette. The reflection of the foliage in the water takes my breath away.

Gradation of colors in a sweeping gesture re-enforces the concept that a mass of one element is always impressive.

This spectacular specimen of wood-ear mushrooms growing on a log high-lights Mother Nature’s mixing of white, green, and brown together.

Dale Chihuly’s reinterpretation of nature knocked my socks off! Suspended from the ceiling, these rich autumnal hues against the glass and the scale of the installation inspired me.

The following photos bring what inspires me to life. For a spectacular birthday celebration at The Rainbow Room in New York, we created tall centerpieces of colorful maple branches in vases wrapped with birch branches and bittersweet vines….

and surrounded the base with dahlias, roses, gloriosa and miniature apples and pears.  Reflecting in the mirrors of the Rainbow Room, it was a show stopper!

This photo illustrates a literal interpretation of a tree and was an absolute “wow” as guests entered this wedding reception. We created a 15′ tree of seasonal branches with flowers entwined around the trunk. The tree created a visual “anchor” in the entrance, and the scale was awe inspiring.

This is our signature woodland centerpiece which puts the forest in front of the guest. Tall birch branches and logs, mushrooms, bird’s nests, acorns, berries, pillar candles, and roses allow the guests to experience the natural beauty of the elements as they are found in nature.

Mark, I knew from the first time we met that you were extremely talented, but never knew just which turn your talent would take . Each of the above photos show the uniqueness which you have developed. Congradulations, and lots of luck.

Oh my gosh, the center pieces at the the Rainbow room are truly stunning!

Ever since my fiance proposed to me with a gorgeous diamond engagement ring from www.idonowidont.com I have been planning our wedding celebration 24/7.

If I had a choice of my dream reception style it would be at the Rainbow Room with these decorations! It’s like a fairy tale!
