Clever Summer Invitations & Seating Cards

It would be an understatement to say …. I like all things from the sea. This is a papery suite I designed with Grapevine Weddings in Boston. Seahorses mate for life which is a wonderful underlying sentiment, not to mention that they are far cuter letter pressed than dried!

I also believe a deep grey ink is a lovely change from black or chocolate brown for summer or destination invitations. Black can be a little heavy and the grey has a silvery, almost watery quality that feels much lighter. It is also a wonderful compliment to brighter colors…in this case coral.

I also asked Karen to dye-cut the edge with a ruffle pattern for a more playful approach. I get bored with a straight edge.

Everyone always obsesses about rain for beach weddings when wind is usually the most unwelcome guest! We made card holders out of scallop shells and tucked them into the sand to ensure they didn’t fly away. Effective and…
