Built in 1916 as the winter home of a wealthy industrialist Vizcaya and its gardens have been beautifully restored and are open to the public. The villa is a spectacular setting for a wedding.

The couple had two ceremonies to recognize both the bride and groom’s religious and cultural heritage.

A traditional Persian ceremony was held in recognition of the bride’s family.

Bridesmaid’s bouquets were made of lilac and sweet pea.

The front of the bar was lined with a massive garland of oranges and peonies - it was wonderfully fragrant and oranges are a symbol of good luck in Persian culture.

Crushed sea glass in plexiglass trays formed the base of the seating card table.

A platinum manzanita branch draped with phalaenopsisorchids and swarovki crystals rose out of the tray.

Vizcaya was designed to be open to its beautiful surroundings and the dinner was held on one of its verandas. A clear tent was erected along the facade of Vizcaya to protect from the elements but not obstruct the view. Centerpieces of hydrangeas, pink roses, and majolica were alternated with those of hydrangea and sweet pea, and then interspersed with arrangements of just majolica roses. The table was covered with platinum fitted Bengaline linen.

A beautiful centerpiece of pink majolica roses, sweet pea, and hydrangea identified the head table.

A few quiet moments for the bride.

I hope my wedding is as stunning as the one in these photos, and that picture of the bride is just gorgeous!

After becoming engaged after my fiance recently proposed to me with a gorgeous diamond engagement ring from www.idonowidont.com we would love to have a wedding in a villa like Vizcaya.

It makes the setting so elegant and serene, maybe we will have ours there too!

    Hi Michelle,
I’m so glad you like my posts - and thank you so much for sharing your incredible talent with Snippet & Ink and my readers. Unfortunately I won’t be at Engage ‘09, but maybe we can meet up next time I’m in New York. Happy holidays!
