A granny smith apple nestled in a tulip cup.

apple-in-vase.jpgSometimes it is the smallest element that does the heavy lifting in your wedding design. Who would imagine that the granny smith apple, a fruit you pass by in the grocery every week, could have such versatility and presence. This mighty fruit (I often “pear” with just a single element) goes a long way in making a big impact. These photographs illustrate four different weddings where apples have muscled their way into the front lines.

Here, the fresh bright chartreuse of the apples combined with lush peonies and hydrangea just pop of the page.

I love using apples as part of a garden or other outdoor wedding. The color is SO vibrant…it makes the eye go “WOW”!
