Taking the Plunge - Finding Happiness on Wall Street

October 11th, 2008 · 10 Comments

While the stock market has not yielded much to celebrate over the past weeks, a bond of a different sort was celebrated in the halls of Cipriani’s on Wall Street.

The wedding ceremony was held at the historic Trinity Church.

The wedding party then walked from the church to Cipriani’s at 55 Wall Street.

This historic landmark has served as the home of the New York Merchant’s Exchange, The New York Stock Exchange, The U. S. Custom’s House, and now Cipriani Wall Street. The building occupies an entire city block and is framed by four sets of Corinthian columns. The main room has 70 foot ceilings and a Wedgewood dome.

There is nothing like making a grand entrance. We filled a silver urn with white ostrich feathers – the seating card table was a show stopper.

Gardenias on a bed of guinea fowl feathers formed the elegant boutonnieres.

The napkins were folded with double faced satin ribbon with the couple’s monogram.

Low arrangements with white Tibet roses framed by modern candle holders with floating aqua candles – frosted votive candles on a mirrored runner create a symphony of light at the dinner table.

Square and rectangular tables outlined the dance floor — graphic designs were projected to add color and drama.

I have been reading several blogs by event designers around the country for a while now as I research the possibility of having a career in this industry. Consequently, I’ve come across thousands of pictures of events designed by professionals such as yourself.

I must say that this is one of the most inspiring productions I’ve seen.

    Absolutely beautiful.
