Turn up the Heat

October 28th, 2009 · No Comments

Here’s a quick and easy tip for a gloomy, rainy Wednesday… if you want to warm up a space and give it elegant ambience, light some candles!  We all use this technique when we want to take a relaxing bath so why not put that same effort towards your next dinner party or family wedding.  I have tons of candles in my home. Sconces with tapers, floor standing candle stands for pillars and gobs of votives. It is the first thing I do when I get home.  It’s super simple and makes a grand statement.

Exposed pillar candles on a fireplace mantle are oh so sexy and give off an amazing glow.

Put them in simple glass cylinders and you’ve got the perfect escort card table for any design.

Line plain votives along the windows of a raw space and watch the room transform.

So while thinking of how to incorporate candlelight into your next event, draw yourself a hot bath, line the tub with candles, and watch the rain run down the windows.
